Home Delivery

Every morning my mother in law hangs a cloth bread bag from the door knob of her home, by mid-morning a fresh loaf of crusty bread is hand delivered. On this particular morning Mari placed a quick call to la tienda and requested eggs and peaches as well.
Imagine how much a person could save by not going grocery shopping! * Note that eggs and milk are not sold refrigerated.

hola Jannis,

I just found your blog and was excited to find another person who misses Asturias! I grew up in the US but my mom is from Infiesto and I have a lot of relatives there. My husband and I just came back from a trip to Spain and I always feel heartbroken when I come back home (we stayed at Hotel Europa in Madrid too). We'd like to move there eventually, if it's possible for the two of us to get jobs in Oviedo or Gijon.

It was a delight to stumble on your blog and see some great Asturianu photos.

Nina, I am so glad that you left your comment! I loved Hotel Europa and will stay again and again in the future. ( I adore Madrid!) My first choice to live would be Gijon..... ahhhh the ocean. Gijon has way better pinchos than Oviedo, but I wonder if Oviedo might have more bars. It is so wonderful to meet you!
